Year 7 homework Tuesday 24th January 2012
In class today we looked at what a civil war was and we started to look at why England went to war with its own king in 1642. I asked you to do another research task for homework, which will help you with next lesson:
1) Find out what the battles of the civil wars were ( they are usually named after the place where the fighting took place)
2) Find out who won them and when they were.
This film clip may help you.
or this website:

This homework is due in on the 25th January 2012. No excuses. Leave me a reply on this blog if there is anything you are unsure of. Miss Bradshaw

really stuck becuz of this
Sorry for the delay in the reply T? I am assuming this is Thomas Beech? You have to say which soldier you would prefer to be a round head or a cavalier and why, now that you know a little more about the weapons they used and the types of men that became supporters of the king and the government. Just state which one you would rather be and why. Miss Bradshaw
Hi Miss Bradshaw
This is my homework set on the 31st. I hope its ok to put it here!
Round head or cavalier?
I would have rather been a Roundhead as they were normal citizens fighting for their beliefs. They were parlimentarians and thought the goverment and not the king should be in charge of the country. The king thought he ruled everyone and he got rid of parliment which I think is unnacceptable.
Also Oliver Cromwell was a great commander and he and roundheads won the civil war! And King Charles I was rightfully executed!
And finally, I have grown my hair long before but like roundheads prefer it short!
Hope its ok Miss! Jake McDonald 7J1
Yes this is fine
Miss Bradshaw
hey miss T here again plz reply, plz?
hi miss bradshaw, i won’t be here next week so what should i do?
Hi Zoe,
Sorry to hear that, but do not worry too much, we will be carrying on with the Civil War so you can copy up what you missed when you return.
Miss Bradshaw
Thank you
Hi miss Krisy here I did the latest homework on the computer but I dont know what to do with it the teacher gave everyone your email so should I email you or print it either one is ok with me!
Hi Krisy, I am happy for you to email it to me or print it, do which ever is easiest for you.
Miss Bradshaw
Hi miss Bradshaw this is my homework for 31st February.
I would have been a Cavalier because they enjoyed life better than the Roundheads because Oliver Cromwell (Roundhead), who was a Puritan pretty much banned everything when he was in charge, even Christmas! Fellow Royalists, such as Highwaymen that supported King Charles I were also kind to other Cavaliers by giving them money when they were broke. I also like the Cavaliers’ fancy outfits because they stand out from the crowd.
P.S:Forgot to mention that this is Mary.
Scratch the opening of my paragraph Miss Bradshaw. It was suppose to say homework from 31st January.
Thanks =D
Hi Miss Bradshaw, is this ok:
I would have rather been a Cavalier than a Roundhead because they wore stylish clothing, especially for that era, and because they used a good variety of weaponry. In the beginning, they were better equipped than the Roundheads but their performance didn’t deteriorate it was just the fact that the Roundheads improved their choice of armour/weaponry and their organisation. Also i would’ve been a Cavalier because they were doing what they thought was right and what they thought was the best for the people.
do i have to right that in my book as well next week?
miss i emailed the hw to you last week but i dont know if you got it so can you tell me so i know if to print it out or not
Hi Abbie,
I got it I think you sent it from a Simon Mercer’s email. I came through no problem. Miss Bradshaw
Hi Miss
I just wondered who or what `archbishop laud` ?
Hi Jake
Archbishop Laud is a person that challenged Charles when he said that the scottish should use the English prayer book.
I hope this helps Miss Bradshaw
Sorry Miss!
That doesnt really make sense who or what archbishop laud is?
